Historic radio editing desk donated to Birmingham City University

The Charles Parker Trust has donated a historic editing desk belonging to BBC producer Charles Parker to Birmingham City University. It joins other broadcasting artefacts curated by Sam Coley, Senior Lecturer in Radio. The photo shows the desk being handed over to Sam by Phil Maguire of the Prison Radio Association, Trustee of the Charles Parker Archive.

The Trust is delighted that the desk has a permanent home in a place where radio students can appreciate the equipment and skills needed to create programmes before the advent of computer software.
